Why the EGR valve gets dirty
Soot and oil mist from the exhaust settle, especially with a lot of short-trip and city driving. The valve can then stick or no longer close properly.
Typical signs
Possible signs are loss of power, rough running, limp mode or a warning light. The same symptoms can have other causes, so we check first.

On many diesel vehicles, problems with the EGR system and the particulate filter occur together. We therefore check both before we give a recommendation.
