What is read out?
Modern vehicles store control unit faults in the fault memory. It can be read through the diagnostic interface (OBD) and shows which system has reported a malfunction.
Warning light – now what?
A lit warning lamp is a hint, not a verdict. Diagnostics clarify whether it is harmless or needs a repair. With red warning lights you should not keep driving.

Loss of power, limp mode, rough idle or higher consumption can have many causes, for example sensors, the exhaust system or electrics. Diagnostics narrow them down.
