In summer heat and stop-and-go traffic, the engine runs at low speed for long periods. This can favour soot and deposits in the EGR system and filter. How much depends on the vehicle and how it is driven.
What you can do
Give the car a longer drive at steady speed regularly, keep enough fuel in the tank and watch the warning lights. Follow the notes in the vehicle manual.
If signs appear
